What I Bring To The Table
I started out as a fine art photographer and photo retoucher, before working in Information Technology for over 25 years. That makes me a little different from other programmers. I love to comingle my creativity and my programming skills. This allows me to use a combination of artistry and technical savvy to make each and every project successful for my clients.
I established The Wilders Group in 2009 after working as a senior level developer in the corporate world for over 15 years at companies from the New York Shipping Association, to Sullivan and Cromwell LLC, a downtown law firm. I bring all of my corporate experience to my business and provide quality products and in depth knowledge of many different software programs, especially WordPress.
How I Got Here
My journey began during the late 80’s when the digital age began to rapidly transform the way we live and work. My dream had been to be a fine art photographer and worked as a photo retoucher for several years at a commercial lab, working with chemicals and film.
Digital photography began replacing film and hand retouching was becoming obsolete, it was the end of an era.
I went back to school for computer programming and started worked for the New York Shipping Association, located in the World Trade Center. I happily wrote programs to calculate benefits for the Longshoreman, using Oracle technology and relational databases.
My next job involved stock market data, programming data feeds for the London Stock exchange.
At the beginning of the Internet boom, I was working for a New York law firm downtown, and helped launch the firms first comprehensive website using proprietary software. It was that that I became hooked on CMS and website development. I discovered a discipline where I could combine my programming and creative skills.
Soon after I established The Wilders Group in 1997 I started building websites for clients using WordPress, which was revolutionary when it came out.
The rest is history.
